At Indiana University, my master’s experience pushed me to think more critically about the role of research in design. While I entered the program interested in understanding people, I’ve grown to question how tools and systems, especially AI, shape the design process. My work explores how researchers navigate speed, pressure, and emerging technologies, while still maintaining the integrity and nuance that human-centered design depends on.

Before attending Indiana University, I was always interested in how people think and behave, which led me to study psychology. As I learned more about research and asking questions, my curiosity expanded into how these same behaviors show up in digital environments, inspiring me to pursue a minor in Human–Computer Interaction. I then joined a research lab focused on human–robot interaction, an experience that deepened my interest in the field and ultimately motivated me to pursue my master’s degree in Human–Computer Interaction.
